Analysis and Challenges in Wireless Networked Control System: A Survey

A wireless networked control system (WNCS) consists of a dynamic to be controlled, sensors, actuators, and remote controller. WNCS has two types transmissions, i.e., the sensor's measurement transmission controller controller's command actuator. In this paper, we are surveying literature on communication networks in WNCSs challenges related them, such as standards, delay, Packet dropout, delay jitter. Then, approaches design presented, including interactive joint approaches. Also, several applications have been discussed terms their structure, functionality, design. These include Intra-Vehicle Wireless networks, Avionics Intra-Communication, Building Automation, Water pumping. After that, security issues from engineering point view detailed while focusing major kinds cyber attacks affecting WNCSs. Finally, future directions conclusions summarized at end paper.
